Traumatic Memories Create Chronic Hyper-Vigilance and Damage the Brain's Relaxation Response

With chronic anxiety or panic attacks, external factors trigger traumatic emotional memories (usually from childhood) and cause the body to release sudden bursts of adrenaline. This causes the body to feel “panic” and release high levels of cortisol—which create a hyper-vigilant emotional state of anxiety and “waiting for the other shoe to drop.” Over time, the high cortisol levels can actually damage nerve receptors in the brain that would otherwise override chronic anxiety, further complicating the problem.

The unpredictable sound waves of the Infratonic 8000 can dissolve this pent-up anxiety—normalizing our bodies' biochemical activity and bringing about a sense of whole-body relaxation.

Treatment

Stressful or intimidating circumstances often evoke conditioned responses of fear, which lead to muscle tension and tension in the body's electrical and circulatory systems.

To evoke a state of mental calm, start by applying the Infratonic 8000 to the upper chest for 10 to 20 minutes. To alleviate anger, treat the liver area for 10 minutes, and to treat feat, apply the therapy to the sacrum for 10 minutes.

Occasionally, initial use of the therapy can induce a state of anxiety by activating anger and fear. If this is observed, simply delay treatment of liver and sacrum, and start with treating heart (center of chest), and bottoms of the feet, then perform a sweeping therapy (holding the transducer several inches from the body and slowing moving it down the body) from head to toe. It can also help to treat the heart from several inches away and move the therapy closer to the heart slowly, so the patient can let go of the anxiety gradually.
