Ditch the dirt

Most dogs are perfectly happy when their skin and fur are well coated with their natural scents and oils. However, excess dirt can be uncomfortable for your dog and actually cause itching. It also may attract unwanted pests so bathing is best. Be careful not to over-wash, as this will strip the coat of natural oils. Most dogs should be bathed once every two months. Your vet will give you advice on treatment plans to help prevent problems caused by pests, and on how to bath your pet as well as help you set the best bathing schedule, some breeds may have sensitive skin and require less bathing.

The natural way

There is a lot that can be done naturally to help keep your pet’s hair and skin clear. It is always a good idea to brush your pet thoroughly daily, as this will help remove dirt and help spread natural oils throughout the coat (it also prevents nasty tangles from forming). An easy way to keep dogs clean is to dust their coats with a mixture of cornstarch and baby powder, and brush it through, as the powder readily ‘soaks up’ skin oils and helps eliminate the usual "doggy" smell. For longer-lasting fresh smelling coats, a natural shampoo or spray can be used.

What is Manage Mites Shampoo?

Manage Mites Shampoo contains a combination of herbs known for their ability to help rid the coat of excess dirt and grime, while still supporting healthy skin.

Manage Mites Shampoo is a natural herbal shampoo for dogs using only tested, natural ingredients and may be used as needed for gentle, effective cleansing action.

There is a great deal of evidence to suggest that the use of carefully chosen herbal and homeopathic ingredients can help to promote skin health. Along with the correct lifestyle choices, our herbal remedies can make all the difference to your pet’s health.

Manage Mites Shampoo comes in a natural liquid form and contains absolutely no parabens, sodium laurel sulphate or harmful petrochemicals that other non-natural treatments may contain.

Ingredients: Manage Mites Shampoo contains the following ingredients:

  • Agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria) in this remedy are the dried, above ground parts. The aerial plant arts contain 4-10% condensed tannins, which can account for its astringent properties. Revista De Medicina Interna Neurologie Psihiatrie Neurochirurgie Dermato Venerologie Serie Dermato Venerologia 1984;29(2):153-157).
  • Garlic (Allium sativum L.) is a member of the lily family, which also includes hyacinth, tulip, onion, leek, and chives. It has also been studied for its possible ability to discourage pests and promote healthy skin (Ankri S, Mirelman D. Antimicrobial properties of allicin from garlic. Microbes Infect 1999;1(2):125-129). (Stjernberg L, Berglund J. “Garlic as an insect repellent”. JAMA 2000;284(7):831.).

Southeast Asian J.Trop.Med.Public Health 1995;26(1):180-182.)
  • Niaoli essential oil is derived from the evergreen tree with pointed leaves and spiky long yellow flowers. The leaves of the evergreen are extremely fragrant when crushed.
